Events Right Around the Corner

Wanting to let you know about some of the events that are right around the corner.

The first will be the Hot Coco Social. December 6 in SUBO in the game room. In essences you get hot chocolate (yes its free) and good company (yes other Brooklyn College students).

Second well be the Holiday Feast Dinner. This means yes more free food, however so much more. There will be entertainment from fellow residents of RezLife. We will have a wall allowing your thoughts of what is it that you are thankful for (in coordination of the theme what are you thankful for?) and more. Just remember its semi-formal attire and 2 cans for admission.

This food drive is in conjunction with Assemblywoman Rhoda Jacobs to be donated to 14 Brooklyn food pantries that had been impacted by the extraordinary demand triggered by the recession.

What does that translate to? You giving and receiving all in one night!

Sunny's Top Things to Do in NYC

1) Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s great exercise whether you’re walking, jogging, rollerblading, biking, etc. It’s also beautiful.
2) Eating at Grimaldi’s (Just under the Brooklyn Bridge). If you go during off hours, the wait isn’t too long, and it’s ALWAYS worth the wait. It’s my favorite place to eat pizza in NYC.
3) Bryant Park. Skating is great in the winter since it’s free if you bring your own skates. There is also great film series and concerts in the summer time.
4) Visit a Museum. It’s free for CUNY students.
5) Parks. Central Park and Prospect part are great places to go if you want to get out of the city but you can’t. If you’re far enough from its perimeter, a park can be a great place to relax. If you’re by Prospect Park, Park Slope is a great place to explore and find good food.
6) Fall for Dance. It’s a great show for only $10. Even those who don’t like dance or theater come out surprised at how much they enjoyed it.
7) Bowery Poetry Club. Seven Dollar Slam on Tuesdays at 7!! Very entertaining and always full!
8 ) Highline. Beautiful things happen to abandon train lines!
9) Chicken & Rice. If you’re ever craving street food late at night in Manhattan go to 53rd and 6th.
10) Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Gorgeous all year round.
